Bio
Attending Franklin Middle School, I help my Multimedia teacher with many projects around the classroom. Though I didn't always live here in California. I used to live in Oregon, where I spent most of my days reading and playing video games. When I turned eight I moved to California, and I'm not regretting the decision one bit.

WIldcat t.v. episode 1- red ribbon weekIn this first episode of Wildcat T.V, it talks about drugs for Red Ribbon Week. This video, though, is my recreation of my teachers original work. Using IMovie, I cut the videos we recorded and set them up in order for the newscast. After that was done, I then took one of the other students video for the dead celebrity montage, (I didn't make one), and did the same for the rest of the videos of interviews. For the intro, my classmates chose pictures that thought represented them. I then took the photos, set them in random order, and matched their names with their photos. With this assignment I learned the valuable skills of video making and editing and a better understanding of computers.

Wildcat T.V. Episode 2- ChristmasThe second episode of Wildcat T.V. premiered around Christmas, henceforth the Christmas theme. In this video we discuss topics like Black Friday, our schools Turkey Trot, and a flashmob to the song Thriller. I didn't make this video, my teacher did, but I did announce the news. The rest of the video is people answering what they want on their Christmas list and Charlie Brown.

Wildcat T.v. Episode 3/4This is the third/forth episode of Wildcat T.V. The reason its both the third and forth episode is because it is the third episode in the series, but we called it the forth. This episode we go over subjects like congratulating our art students and soccer players, reminding students of the student of the month ceremony, announcing our annual spelling be is approaching, and telling our sixth grade students information on the T-dap shot and reminding that they need to take it. I put this episode together and read the news, and I must say that this is not my best work. While transitioning you may notice the fade in audio, preventing you to hear a few words. Well, that was my fault, but now I learned NOT to do that.

Wildcat t.v. Episode 5In this episode, our most recent addition, has us starting out with our baby pictures, and ends in pictures of how we look today. This episode tells students of our recent Science Fair, our book fair, congratulates the students who received academic awards, and told students of an upcoming art show. It then proceeded to show our Bunny Hop, the Word of the Week, and an announcement for 8th graders. I did not create this video, or announce news in it, because I was on a field trip. But it is a god episode overall.

The CarrotMy teacher had given us the assignment one day to take a picture of a weird looking carrot he had found and make it interesting. So, I did the first thing that popped into my mind. I put it into a wrecked city, with a girl in its "hand", like King Kong, except without the tall building. And with a carrot. I had taken the carrot, erased the background, saturated it to look gray, and stuck it on top of the city ruin. I then got a picture of a girl who had fainted, erased her background, saturated her to look black and white, and shrunk her to the size of the carrots "hand". Carrot King Kong!

Chip BagThis picture here is my name on a Lays bag. This was done for the soul purpose on the introduction of Episode 4, of which I had put together. When my teacher had announced we would be picking our favorite chips and sticking our name on it, I instantly had chosen Sour Cream and Onion Lays. While working with the bag, I didn't like any of the fonts, because they didn't match the Lays font. Then I realized that Lays has the letters of my name! So I took the letters, messed with them a little bit (making them smaller, erasing some parts, etc.), duplicated the 's', and placed them on the red ribbon, and viola! A chip bag with my name on it.

Father and SonThis is another Photoshop/Pixlr battle my teacher had assigned us. Our task was to take a picture of a father tossing his son up into the air and make it more... Interesting. What I had done with my picture was that I had first cleaned up the father and son and placed them into a desert, then I had made the baby a shrunk the baby down a bit and moved him a bit to the right. This way the baby looked as if he was falling from a great height. Then, I took a picture of a burning plane, cleaned it up, shrunk it down and placed it to the far right. This way the picture is expressing that the father is trying to catch the baby as it falls from a burning plane.

destructive behaviorThis image is this years first Photoshop battle entry, and I am pretty proud of my entry. The scenario of my picture is that the kid is bursting through the wall along the house, and the Kool-Aid man is jealous seeing his work. I believe my proportions of the kid and the Kool-Aid Man are pretty spot on, and my clean up is close to perfect. Though I could've been more creative with my work and scenario, I am still proud of my work.

elements of c.r.a.p.
education celebration logo
This years Education Celebration was focused on College and Career Ready, Set, Go, and my picture represents that idea. This wasn't my first idea for the image, my first idea was to create a racetrack, but I didn't like the outcome. I don't like this image either, it's bland with its gray background, but it helps contrast with the other colors. It has no repetition, but its alignment is present with the text. The car with the graduates hat next to "College and Career" and "Ready, Set, GO!" is the proximity in the picture, but overall its a very "blah" picture, and I wish I did more with it.
RHS Flier
|
This was an assignment given to the class by my teacher. We were supposed to recreate a flier he received in the mail by Renaissance High and make it better. The first thing I did to make the flier better was that I enlarged the title to make it more noticeable. Then I placed the main events on the sides and placed the pictures next to them for proximity. Then I placed the information at the bottom, used different alignments, and placed them down the center for alignment. There is no repetition, but there is contrast with the pictures, typefaces, and font sizes.

My photoshop work
doubles in basketball
Here is one of the Photoshop assignments I have completed in my multimedia class. It was an assignment my classmates and I were told to do for fun while the internet was down. I kinda winged it for this one because I had no ideas whatsoever. I believe I could have done more with the picture though to make it better and more interesting, such as adding more objects in to make it a crazy basketball tournament and make it more fun.

break dance battle
Here is another example of my Photoshop work. This was assigned by my multimedia teacher, Mr. Fitz, for a bit of fun, and to see who was creative enough to think outside of the box. My first idea was to leave her (the girl in the front with the hat) in her original picture with a whole bunch of random objects surrounding her, but my teacher gave me the idea of a break dancing battle. I feel like I could've proportioned her better to seem more realistic, and not make her look so flat.

take coverHere is one more example of my Photoshop work that we did in class. I believe that this is my best work. It was a little difficult to put together, especially the panda. The panda had only its head, no body, so I had to position it in the smoke to look like its body was back there. Though this is my best work, instead of making 6 images of the same girl jumping out the windows, I should of just put one image of the girl.

news articles/write ups
Our multimedia class does a little show called Wildcat T.V. so I help write little segments for it (I was also the co-anchor for the first episode). So far, I have done two little write ups for the show. I did a story of recent news on cyberbullying and a write-up on the California drought.
Recently, a girl named Hannah Smith had been bullied,
and on August 1, 2013 she committed suicide. She hanged herself in her bedroom, and her sister had found her later that evening. She had been bullied for months on the website Ask.FM, a website were you can ask people questions anonymously. Sources say her dad banned her from using Ask.FM after the school called and suggested for all the students not to use it, due to the recent suicides related to the site. During the investigation, police say that Hannah made a secret facebook account so she could go on Ask.FM undetected by her father. This enabled the cyberbullying to resume. In related news, Rebecca Sedwick had also been bullied. 15 girls had been calling her ugly and telling her to go kill herself. She had received these hate messages for nearly a year, until on September 9, 2013, she jumped to her death off an abandoned cement factory. |
Recent newsThis is the first write up I did for Wildcat T.V. It was for our Big Story, or the main topic we talked about. It pertained to what happened to the young girls Hannah Smith and Rebecca Sedwick, and how and when they died. My write up is mainly about how they were cyberbullied and how they committed suicide. I should've written this better so it sounded more professional, such as writing more information on the subject.

California’s Central Valley, the most productive farm region in the
world, is not getting any of the water they requested for their crops this year. This is due to the drought in California, leaving the reservoirs dangerously low. The farm will only get 2.4 million acre-feet of water instead of their requested 4.0 million. But it’s not just the farm that’s suffering from this drought, only two-thirds of California’s 38 million people get at least PART of their water from the State Water Project. Some of the customers of the Bureau of Reclamation will get 40% of the water they ordered because they had pre-existing contracts. And finally, the drought in California deprives us of the water we need to produce stuff like milk, beef, wine, and vegetable crops including strawberries, almonds, and avocados. And just because it rained a couple of days does NOT mean the drought is over! |
California droughtThis is my second write up, and I am proud of this one. This is way better than my first write up, but it still has flaws. This write up talked about the drought we've been having, and its effects on California. It could've been better if I had dumbed it down for our show, but I didn't know how to. My favorite part of this write up is how I said that "just because it rained a couple of days does not mean the drought is over."
